Abstract

The scholarly efforts of young professionals connected in this collective monograph testifies to the constant interest in the topic of genocide of the Jewish, Roma community and other categories of the population in South-Eastern Europe. The compilers of this collection call this region a "frontier"– this is primarily due to the fact that due to the political situation (being among the countries of the "socialist camp") it was for a long time in a certain research "isolation", which led to the state historical research. The situation changed significantly after 1989 and especially in the late 2000s, with the accession of a number of countries in the region to the European Union, when the integration process began, in particular in the area of historical narrative, including such important elements as the Holocaust and Roma genocide.
